If anyone is interested in food for the tabel, and delicious food at that, then now is the time to fish Narragansett Bay, here in Little Rhody as the fishing for these bottom species is right off the charts right now. In the last two days we've boated over 85 scup, (progy's) of up to 16-inches in length-huge! 48 sea bass to four and half pounds, and 26 fluke with eight fish going four to 7 lbs. I have never seen the bottom fishing like this in decades. This is as it used to be when I was a kid and I never thought I'd see this again but we have. All the fish we are catching is on light tackle spinning and plug rods and we are jigging for them with small jigs. The bite is simply amazing. Today's party took home a cooler of at least 60 lbs of fresh fish for the table. We also have a huge number of bluefish in our bay now. Anyone who wants to introduce kids or somebody else to fishing, now is the time to do it. There are so many bluefish that you couldn't last the entire time casting and reeling them in, your arms would be too tired and sore. Not many anglers took advantage of this bottom fishery last season which was also off the charts. I did a TV show with Florida Sportsman Magazine in August last year and we boated 52 sea bass in just over an hour and a half. That was August and this is only the middle of June, so the bite is alreay better than last year if that is possible. We'll be offering a special rate for this fishery, only $450 for up to four anglers. A fifth angler is $50 extra. Buy a cooler, get some ice, and fill it with fresh fish this summer.
