"Bottom Fishing for 2010" Fluke: Narragansett Bay is home to some of the best fluke fishing to be found inshore, anywhere in New England. From the bridges in Jamestown and Newport, down to the mid-bay islands, fluke can be found in good numbers from early May right through the summertime. Why not consider a striper/fluke combo trip? Stripers early in the morning, then finish the day with some good eating fluke fillets to take home for the table. Black Sea Bass/Scup (Porgy's): These two totally delicious species are often overlooked by those who visit our bay to fish. That's too bad too! As both species are extremely plentiful and are great fighters on light tackle. We use freshwater bass gear when we pursue these two fish for maximum fun and enjoyment for our clients. They are also two great species to introduce children to saltwater fishing, giving them maximum action to hold their attention. What could be better than that? You also get some great tasting fish for the table as well. The black sea bass fishing as well as the scup fishing has been phenonemal the past three seasons and almost no one is pursueing them. Blackfish (Tautog): Blackfish or Tautog as they are known locally in our area, are available in the early spring and then again in the fall when the fish move on to almost any rockpile or reef that they can find inside the bay. Blackfishing has been extraordinary the past three seasons and are one of the best tasting bottom fish there are. Almost no one is taking advantage of this fish inside our bay. Night Time Eel Trips: We'll be doing evening trips for striped bass with live eels in 2010. The trips will run from 6 pm to 11 pm. All tackle and bait is provided. Late spring and then summer fishing was much better the past two seasons when the sun went down. The fish on average are getting larger, so they will switch to a night time feed. They like to call this type of fishing- Surf Fishing from the other side. Chumming: We will now offer trips that focus on chumming with clam bellies and butterfish for stripers, bluefish, sea bass, scup and fluke. These trips are designed for maximum action as well as catching a large variety of species in one day. We will employe Circle Hooks in this fishery to minimize the harm to any smaller fish that must be released. This is also a light tackle fishery as well. White Ghost-2 has greatly expanded its offerings to our clients in 2010 to cover a wider range of fishing opportunities as well as offering more species to our clients and providing fresh, tasty food for the table at the same time. So next season, contact us for any of the above fishing opportunities listed and we will customize a trip just for you and your friends. Remember, White Ghost-2 is one of the safest and most up-to-date fishing vessels out there. Our boat is saftey equiped for a vessel of 65-feet in length. We don't have to do that, we do it for our customers safety and piece of mind. In 2010, we will have state-of-the-art electronic technology provided by our sponsor, Lowrance Electronics. Their new HDS-10 fish finder/GPS/Radar, system. Our new radar system is digital with amazing accuracy to within 3-feet of the boat.
